Privacy policy

If you only use the free checker: nothing lands on our servers under your name. Your location, balcony orientation, and the optional personalization answers are used to compute the forecast and are kept in your own browser (localStorage) so the page remembers you. Clearing your browser data removes them.

If you buy a season pass: we store your balcony setup (coordinates, location name, orientation, floor, plant list, temperature unit) and your email address, so your verdict page works and danger alerts can reach you. That is the whole record. No passwords, no accounts, no tracking profile. How long it stays is below.

Weather comes from Open-Meteo: your coordinates are sent to their API to fetch the forecast. Location search tries Open-Meteo's place name lookup first, then LocationIQ (an OpenStreetMap-based geocoder) and, for postcodes in countries OpenStreetMap does not cover, Google Geocoding: only the text you type in the location box (or the coordinates from the location button, if you use it) is sent, never your identity.

Hosting runs on Vercel, stored data lives in Upstash Redis, emails go out through Resend, and payments are handled entirely by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record: we never see or store your card details.

We send exactly one kind of email: an alert on a day one of your plants is in danger, plus the transactional emails around your purchase. Every alert has a one-click unsubscribe link, and there is an alerts on/off switch on your verdict page. No newsletters, no marketing list.

There is no advertising and no cross-site tracking. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies: it sees the page, the referring site, your country, and your browser and device type, and only ever shows us totals. The short-lived hash it uses to tell one visit from the next is thrown away after 24 hours. We also count a few anonymous steps (a verdict shown, a share button tapped, a checkout started) to see where the page works.

Your private verdict link is stripped before anything is counted, so it never reaches the analytics. Since nothing here needs a cookie, there is no banner to click through.

• Season pass record (balcony setup and email): for the 24 months your pass runs, plus 12 months after, so if you come back your balcony is still set up. Then it is deleted automatically. Ask sooner and we delete it sooner.
• Watering taps and alert history: 30 days, then they expire on their own.
• Free checker: only in your browser, for as long as you keep your browser data.
• Server logs (IP, request path, kept for security and debugging): rotate away within days.
• Support emails: replies you send us are forwarded to our inbox and kept there as the record of the conversation.
• Payment records: kept by Dodo Payments, not us, for as long as tax law requires of a merchant of record.

Reply to any of our emails from the address you bought with and ask for deletion: we remove your setup, email, and watering history from storage. Free-tier data you delete yourself by clearing your browser storage.
